Monday Night Magic

A while ago while trying to get into, for me, the relatively unknown world of the podcast, as I had received an iPod Touch as a birthday gift, I stumbled on to the best Magic related podcast around ... Monday Night Magic! The podcast is available from the MTGCast website and has a variety of hosts. The team is led by Tom Gustafson (a.k.a. Papa Bear) who is the resident Ooze, Imp, Pauper Magic and Battle Cattle proponent. Also present are two regular Pro Tour players, Gavin Verhey and Conley Woods, who provide much valuable insight into the game from seriously competitive players. Both of these guys write regular columns on other Magic related websites like StarCityGames, TCGPlayer and ChannelFireball (which is the home of the infamous LSV). There are other co-hosts like Jack from North Carolina (I think we should call him "The Magic Whisperer"), Eric and Steve. The additional co-hosts represent the casually minded players amongst us and are very into playing EDH (Elder Dragon Highlander) and social, kitchen table Magic. The shows are always entertaining and are one of the highlight's of my week. So much so, that the first thing I do on a Tuesday morning, apart from waking up and having a shower, is to download the show from the previous night. Being in South Africa makes it difficult to listen to it live :( ... I prefer the downloads anyway as I can keep copies of the show backed up for prosperity.

They are a great bunch of guys who produce an awesome show. I cannot recommend it more highly.

PS: You can also download it through iTunes.
